Sports Imports was established as a full time Datsun Roadster business in 1986. In recent years we have added a body shop and paint booth, mechanical shop and restoration facilities. This has meant increasing the number of employees to better serve our customers. We can sometimes help owners of other older Datsuns but we make no claim in that regard.
The main thrust of the business is still parts and we try to keep a large up-to-date inventory for the parts needed to restore, maintain, and upgrade your Datsun Sports convertibles. I earn my living almost exclusively from selling Datsun Roadster parts and cars. It has kept a roof over the heads of my wife and myself and our four children and I hope to continue serving my many loyal customers for years to come.
Running a shop that caters almost exclusively to Datsun Roadsters has given me the opportunity to learn a great deal about these cars. I am more than happy to pass on technical tips and information in order to make your restoration or engine rebuild a little easier. I am still learning new things about these cars even though I have been intertwined with them since 1976. A great deal has been shared through the datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net email group that I read daily and occasionally contribute to. It is through these avenues that we are shrinking the Datsun world and putting information and shared experiences in our own backyard. Sports Imports was the first Datsun Roadster business to have a web site up and running and the benefits to my customers and my business have been both rewarding and educational.
My goal as a small businessman is to provide my customers with the best parts and service. We have optimized this Web Site of NETSCAPE version 3 and for speed of downloading.
At present we update our web site using Hot Dog Pro Version 4 with NETSCAPE Gold 3 (32 bit version). When all seems well we check with NETSCAPE 4 and NETSCAPE 2.01 (16 bit version) on our IBM Aptiva with WIN95; we expect to test with Microsoft Network Explorer shortly. After "publishing", that is, sending our new stuff to our Internet provider's server, we test again on our Aptiva and then at a different location on a laptop with a noncolour screen running NETSCAPE 2.01 under Windows 3.1.
After all this, naturally we still find bugs so we really appreciate your patience and your telling us about them.
